Wine 102 - At times, wine reviewers some up with some of the wackiest descriptions of wine – where do they get it? Proust in Remembrance of Things Past was inspired by the smell and taste of a Madeleine dipped in Linden Tea. We will take you beyond the basics and train your senses by teaching you how to identify the components of wine’s nose and flavor profile based on prior sensory memories as well as an understanding of the variety of taste components that are frequently identified in wine. At the end we hope you will be inspired to write your own wine descriptions - and better understand those you read by professionals.
Best for those who have taken our Wine 101 Class

Let’s Take a “Cab” to California -California Cabernet Sauvignons are considered among the very best in the world. Until surpassed by Merlot in the 1990’s, Cabernet sauvignon was the world’s most widely planted premium red wine grape. While they are plentiful, choosing one can be confusing especially because of the price tag. Decent Cabs from lesser know areas of the U.S. and other parts of the world start at around $20 a bottle. With most Napa Cabs starting around $50, we will explore if an extra $30 on the bottle price gets you that much more.
